Authentically Emily Update - Book Guide, Girl Unmasked Paperback, Giveaway and Talks

Hello and happy Monday!

This is a bit of a rambly post with a few updates rather than my usual blog post.

Autism and ADHD Book Guide

In December, I shared an autism and ADHD book guide for children and young people. I’ve received a lot of messages requesting this as a PDF or leaflet. It’s taken me a while, but I’ve now created a book guide for children, young people, parents and professionals which is available to purchase as a PDF download on my store here.

I’ve also updated the initial blog post with additional recommendations, including for parents and professionals. You can find it here.

It is so important for people to see themselves represented in books, and to be able to find the information that they deserve to help them, so I’m thrilled that this book guide has been so well received.

I haven’t read every single book (though many I have loved and found comforting), but I’ve done my best to check the suitability of the books for different ages. If you’re looking for a book for a child or young person, please do your own research before purchasing it, to ensure it is suitable for their age and understanding.

Girl Unmasked: Paperback Release

My book Girl Unmasked: How Uncovering My Autism Saved My Life is out in paperback THIS MONTH on the 27th February! I can’t believe this has rolled around already - in March it will be a year since the hardback was released! As always, I am so grateful to everyone who has read it, pressed it into the hands of others, and sent me lovely messages about it. I am told it is making a difference, and whilst that is hard for me to accept and feel proud of, I am doing my best to try!

You can pre-order the paperback here or from wherever you buy books. Preorders help authors a lot because they let book shops know that people want to read it!

Giveaway: Girl Unmasked Hardback

To celebrate the fact that it’s paperback launch month, I’m running a giveaway over on my Instagram where 3 people will win a signed copy of the hardback of Girl Unmasked. I posted a video yesterday (you can find it here) explaining how to enter. It is open until this Saturday 8th February at 9am when I will randomly pick three winners.

Talks

I am regularly asked about talks that I offer, so I have created a new page on my website with information here. I work Tuesdays to Fridays, but I have availability on Mondays and some other days with annual leave. I really enjoy talking about embracing difference, and how to survive and thrive with autism and ADHD! In January, I got to deliver a workshop to the Young Minds Writers Programme which was super fun.

If you wish to contact me, you can here.

Thank you for following along as always. I am so grateful for everything the past year has brought, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the year!

I hope that your week is bright and filled with joy.

Love, Emily x
